A solo photo exhibition by Keow Wee Loong

“Would you risk your life for one good photo? Yes.”

In almost freezing temperature, Keow Wee Loong stood beneath a skyscraper in Shanghai in early 2014 where two daredevil Russians have scaled successfully recently. He made a life-changing decision to scale this building as well just to see how is the view on top. With his prior experience in mountain-climbing, he sneaked into the building and successfully scaled to the top with no climbing equipment. Amazed by what he can see on top and realising what he can achieve, together with his faithful Nikon D700 and D800 cameras, he has since scaled many skyscrapers and captures stunning aerial view of cityscapes around Asia. This extreme activity of scaling skyscrapers and hang off the edge to take photographs are called Rooftopping. It is not for the faint-hearted but the view is breathtaking.

Born in 1988, Keow Wee Loong holds a LLB Law Degree from University of London. He currently works as a freelance photographer and photojournalist based in Malaysia. Nikon Centre KL is proud to have the opportunity to showcase Keow’s astonishing rooftopping photographs from the top of high-rises in major cities around the world including Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, Shengzheng, and Hong Kong. Come witness the cityscape from the rare perspective as you have never seen before. Most of the actual locations and names of the buildings in the photographs will not be disclosed for security reasons. His latest attempt was the 660m Ping An Finance Centre in Shenzhen, China.

The Organiser of this exhibition, Nikon Club Malaysia and Nikon Malaysia do not promote or endorse the undertaking of the extreme activities described and depicted in this exhibition. The activities of scaling or gaining access to unauthorised areas of private buildings without permission is a criminal offence. The viewer is advised not to try and imitate any of the activities depicted in the exhibition.
