Nadirah Zakariya is a New York City trained Malaysian photographer with works published in international publications including the New York Times Magazine, NYLON, W Magazine, Vice, MILK Magazine and CLEO. Nadirah got her foot in the industry assisting fashion photographer Yelena Yemchuk, photojournalist Bruce Davidson and filmmaker Floria Sigismondi while receiving her Bachelor in Fine Arts at the Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC. She has been commissioned to photograph musicians, namely OK GO, Au Revoir Simone and Nada Surf.
In 2011, Nadirah had her first solo exhibition, “Daughters Ago” at the New York Lomography Gallery on Park Avenue. She has also been invited to numerous group exhibitions in NYC, London and Paris with her most recent one in Kuala Lumpur, “Persona” at MapKL.
When Nadirah is not photographing, she enjoys sharing her passion through talks and workshops. She was a guest speaker for the New York City Fashion Camp in 2011 and WOMEN:Girls’ International Women’s Day in 2012. Photography workshops that Nadirah has organized and taught at included a three day photography workshop for Putrajaya Youth Festival 2015, one day photography workshop at ThinkCity’s Buy Nothing Day 2015 and month long Creative Portrait Photography Workshop at the Kuala Lumpur International Photo Awards 2015.
Companies and brands she has worked with since returning to Kuala Lumpur includes Levi’s, Wardrobe, SapuraKencana, Shell, UrbanScapes, Red Comm, Kakiseni, Mongoose Publishing, WhimsiGirl Design and GoASEAN.
Eiffel Chong graduated with an MA in International Contemporary Art and Design Practice from the University of East London and a BA (Hons) in Photography from London College of Printing. He is an award-winning photographer and has been featured in many exhibitions in Malaysia and around the world.
He recently won the 2nd Prize in Category D for the Nikon Photo Contest 2014-2015, Japan. He is also one of the finalists for the Asia-Pacific Photobook Award 2015, Australia and Sovereign Asian Art Prize 2014 and has been nominated twice for the Prix Pictet. His works were exhibited in Noorderlicht Photo Festival 2015, Groningen, The Netherland; After Image: Contemporary Photography From Southeast Asia, Singapore Art Museum, Singapore; Others & Me: Contemporary Photography Exhibition, Sharjah Art Museum, Sharjah, UAE; and Malaysian Eye, Whitebox Gallery, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Besides his production of photographic work, Chong is highly engaged with the Malaysian photographic community; taking on the role of mentor for the Goethe Institut Malaysia/Nikon Shooting Stars programme and Exposure+ Workshop. In addition, he has been appointed to the panel of judges for the Kuala Lumpur Photography Awards 2013 and 2010/2011 Annual Nikon Photo Awards, Malaysia.
